Nathan has really turned out to be a camping kind of kid. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that we've been taking him since he was just a few months old, but he really is at home in the outdoors. It is getting easier too. At the beginning of the summer I wasn't so sure about it as all we did was chase after him and stop him from getting burned, falling in the river, etc. But, he has learned a bit of boundaries and is getting good at sticking around and playing in the campsite. This weekend we met some friends up at Woodbine campground and drove up the Benbow jeep trail on Saturday. It was a bit rainy when we first arrived, but that quickly changed and it was a beautiful weekend. Here are some pictures from our weekend adventures!
Helping set up camp!
His favorite thing to do is mess with the hitch on the jeep and the handle on the camper.
Sitting on the big rock in the rain!
What a cutie!
We were playing hide and seek through the screen door.
This kid LOVES the Bronco. I mean he is obsessed with sitting in it! He loves to drive it, push all of the buttons, talk on the CB, and listen to music in it. The other night when Daddy was getting it ready, he ran to the window to watch (signing please to go outside the whole time) and when Daddy drove away he cried and cried. He spent quite a bit of time this weekend hanging out in the Bronco and talking on the CB. His shirt even says my Daddy drives a Ford!
He will also know how to air down the tires before too long as he watches every move Steve makes. So cute!
This boy can do anything in the Bronco.
He sleeps...
and eats!
This is a picture of the old Benbow Mine.
We ran into quite a few trees that were recently down and had to move a few of them off the path. We also had quite a ride when we were trying to avoid a tree.
Here are some pictures of our tree moving adventure.
In his pj's, but still going strong. It is hard to go to bed when there is so much fun to be had!
Daddy was playing tunes in the Bronco and Nathan was dancing!
Nathan loved all of the big rocks to climb on.
It was a wonderful weekend.
We are so glad to get to spend this time as a family out in God's beautiful creation!
